We saw 3, yes 3 patients yesterday! Nothing too complicated, so it was perfect. Gabrielle and I spent a lot of time figuring out our computerized records system. We have both used another one before and are very set in our ways. This program is supposed to be better and easier to use. You can teach old dogs new tricks, but it is taking a while. I think we're actually going to have to break down and watch the training video.
Over the weekend, we had a meeting with our interior/exterior designer, John Griffin. He is helping us design a beautiful front desk area and an awning near the front door so that our clients and patients can have some shelter from the rain. As it currently stands, there is a drain in the middle of the overhang so that all of the rainwater is concentrated on anyone who stands there. Talk about smart planning.
Today, we have Patch Smith coming in for a dental cleaning. This will be our first time using our beautiful new laboratory equipment for her presurgical bloodwork. It will also be the christening of the dental machine--plenty to keep us busy.

Pricing
Well, I just spent something like 6 hours working on setting prices for the practice. And I had already spent at least that much just entering the prices of supplies earlier this week.
It seems like a really long time on a very mundane task, but it is a very important one for our business. Obviously, I have to set prices in order for the business to generate any profit. It is really important to me that I am charging a fair price for each service we perform. To that end, I purchased a software called the Fair Fee software. (You can check out their website at www.fairfees.com) It takes into account everything we do for each service. I am really excited about it because it means that I don't ever have to think that we are charging too much or too little for something. I know that I have an objective way to measure the labor and supplies that go into everything we do. I hope that is something that is comforting to our clients as well.
Tomorrow, I get to transfer all of that info into our practice management software. Woohoo!!! It is also a little mundane, but it is important in forming our foundation. Another great night of sleep will be great too. We already have our first appointment scheduled--Patch Smith for a dental on Tuesday. I hope we'll get lots more!
